Despite
what thoughts may have run through your head when reading this title, no
turtles were harmed in the making of this product. What are we talking about?
Turtle pie; the most scrumptious dessert you will ever eat. It starts with an Oreo
crust, giving it a slight but wonderful crunchy taste. On top of that are
crushed, crunchy pecans mixed with lightly golden brown, smooth caramel sauce.
A light and fluffy mousse made with the perfect amount of chocolate is then
layered onto the caramel-pecan mixture. It is topped with sweet, creamy Chantilly
and shavings of milk chocolate. This rich, smooth, and crunchy dessert is best when homemade, but will definitely be satisfying no matter where you eat it. "What about the turtles?" you might ask, and the answer is: there are none. The name came from an old restaurant called "The Velvet Turtle" whose signature dessert was made up of pecans, caramel, and chocolate ice cream. There have been many variations regarding how to make it, but the basic, delectable ingredients remain. Although hearing the name may make you question whether or not to try it, take the chance. I guarantee that it will be the best decision you will ever make... maybe not for your diet, but definitely for your taste buds.
