It’s the dead of winter, the only supplies you have in your house are: apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats, butter, brown sugar and flour. You might think you’re in for a long winter; however, I see the most delicious dessert on this planet, apple crisp. You start by tossing paper-thin apples coated in brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and lay them at the bottom of a baking dish. Then you mix soft butter, flour and oats to form a crumbly topping. Sprinkle generously on top of the apples. Throw that sucker in 350-degree oven for 30 minutes. When it comes out, the sugar has caramelized to the apples, the oats are toasted with a slight crunch to them and it smells like pure heaven. Take an enormous chunk out of the pan and serve with French vanilla ice cream. That is hands down one of the best things I have ever eaten.
