Brunch- The Best Thing I Ever Ate

The best thing I ever ate, at least in recent memory, has to be the baked polenta and eggs at Nick's on Broadway in Providence. I first went to Nick's this past weekend with my brother and sister-in-law for their legendary brunch. This polenta is the holy grail of polenta. Even if you don't like polenta, it is so creamy and cheesy and luscious you will never look at polenta the same way again. It's baked so the outside forms a crisp shell but the inside is soft, and so ooey-gooey. You can taste every perfectly seasoned ingredient balancing together from the Schartner Farms Corn and butternut squash, to the light oily pumpkin seed pesto. On top is why we get to eat it for brunch. Two perfectly over easy eggs and imported Parmesan cheese. The yolk of the eggs breaks and forms a velvety sauce that blends everything together. It took two hours between waiting for a table and for food for me to gorge myself on this polenta but I would wait twice that any day. If you haven't been to Nick's on Broadway yet, you have to go.
