Johnson & Wales in a Nut Shell!

How any people upon coming to college expected to be this entirely new atmosphere? For me, I feel as if I am still in high school, the kids are just older but still match the immaturity level. Their are very few students at this school that tend to take it seriously at all times. High School was free and it was mandatory if you wanted to graduate grade school. College on the other hand is an option, yet alone it costs nearly $50,000 a school year.
Many kids feel as if college is a big party but in reality it isn't. And that is where I believe JWU needs to step in a little. They allow their students to go out, party and come back completely wasted. As long as you can get past the security guard and to your room, it is nearly impossible to get caught.
I expected college to be this whole new chapter in my life. Believe me when I say that it is, but it is nothing that I would have ever expected it to be.

  1. I agree and disagree. I agree that the maturity level of students is very much like high school, but kids have to grow up at some point. If it is their choice to go out and party, or slack off in school, they need to know the consequences. Students should know their priorities and take full credit for the choices they make or don't make.
