Congratulations, you’re special.

Just by existing, you are a statistical anomaly. According to the math and statistics, you should not exist. The chances of you being born are about 1 in 7.9x10^ 136,031. That is 79 with 136, 031 zeroes afterwards. And that’s not even taking into account the probability of your ancestors meeting and survival throughout the years. Those odds are so insane, so astronomical, that you shouldn’t exist. And yet here you are, proving that you can beat the odds. (Can provide math upon request)
Not only that, but you are, at this very moment as you are reading this sentence, at the exact center of the universe. Out of all seven billion people on the Earth, out of all seven continents, out of all eight planets in the Sol system, all of the star systems in the Milky Way Galaxy, and the local galaxy clusters, and all the super clusters, and the whole universe, observable and unobservable, you are at the very center.
It helps to think of the universe like a balloon that’s partially blown up. So the balloon is the Universe, and if you draw dots on the balloon, the dots would be all the super clusters, galaxy clusters, galaxies, star systems, planets, asteroids, comets, and people. If you point at a single dot on the balloon, and continue blowing it up, all the other dots expand out around that one dot. If you point at a different dot, all the other dots expand out around that one. So technically, you are the center of the universe. Congratulations, you’re special.

  1. So what is the math there? Its pretty cool to think that we are the center of the universe, but are we so special? If everyone is the center of the universe then it's not so special then is it? And it would be pretty silly to think that in the whole universe we are the only life out there. So are we so special?

    1. Math: 10,000 generations of homo-sapiens (that's as far as i'm going back), ~200,000,000 sperm at a time, ~400,000 eggs in a woman's life, put it all together and you get a very big number. In fact, the chances are even slimmer due to the fact that I'm not taking into account all the chance that's involved in parents, grandparents, and so on, meeting, not dying, and remaining healthy and fertile. So my estimate isn't even close to the real number. You are special because your whole life, all of humanity, and all of time and space, all 14.6 billion years of universal existence has lead up to you reading this sentence right now. And in my opinion, that is pretty special.

  2. I'm going to let you in on a little secret here, now this is strictly between you and I, but I always knew this to be true about myself. I feel as though my life is too amazing, to zany, and unbelievable for me to not be at the center of it all. Thank you for giving me the facts to back up what I have always know to be true!!! LOL.
